So fatally frontloaded with endless training montages, awfully written, indifferently acted drama, sports-film platitudes and jaw-dropping product placements that only the hardiest of viewers will make it through to the payoff.
Full reviewBreakdance drama, starring Lost's Josh Holloway and singer Chris Brown, following an American crew of B-boys looking to overcome their egos and reclaim the Battle of the Year International Championship title.
Battle of the Year is the Olympics of break dancing, an international tournament held every year in France. The Americans haven't won in 15 years, but LA Hip Hop mogul and former B-Boy Dante (Laz Alonso) wants to put the country that started the sport back on top. He enlists Blake (Holloway), a reluctant basketball coach, to guide his team. Armed with the theory that the right coach can make any team champions, they assemble a dream team of all the best B-boys across the country.
From the makers of Planet B-Boy, a documentary on the annual championship.
