Has a curse conceit that audiences will have to buy into, though here screenwriters niftily present their yarn as a potentially tall tale told at a dinner party.
Full reviewFrench romantic comedy - set across France, Africa and Russia - with Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) and Danny Boon (Welcome to the Sticks), from the director 2010 hit Heartbreaker. In Isabelle's (Kruger) family, every first marriage has ended in divorce. To circumvent the curse Isabelle devises a plan; marry and divorce a complete stranger (Boon) before wedding her faultless fiancé Pierre (Robert Plagnol).
She targets Jean-Yves, an adventurous travel writer whom she tries to manipulate with her powers of seduction. A series of misadventures beset them as they take on Africa and then Moscow in whirlwind succession, breaking Isabelle away from her routine existence.
