Gods of Egypt

Gods, monsters and total mayhem ensue in this mythical Egyptian fantasy adventure starring Gerard Butler (300) as the dark god Set, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) as the almighty Horus, and Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent) and Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road) as noble mortals Bek and Zaya. From Alex Proyas, director of I, Robot, Dark City and The Crow.

With the survival of mankind hanging in the balance, an unexpected hero takes a journey to save the world and rescue his true love. Set has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into conflict. With only a handful of heroic rebels opposing Set’s savage rule, Bek enlists the aid of powerful god Horus in an unlikely alliance against the evil overlord. Their battle against Set and his henchmen will take them into the afterlife and across the heavens.

Oozes stupidity and self-indulgence from every pore.

The closing moments set up a sequel, a prospect far more terrifying than anything we've just seen.

If “Gods of Egypt” were any worse, it might be a masterpiece.

Some movies are so effing awful they're hilarious. Gods of Egypt falls short of that lofty goal.

Well I enjoyed this movie however since I read reviews before seeing it I wasn't expecting too much so wasn't too disappointed

Visually pleasing but that doesn't make a good movie. Storyline is as ancient as the the period depicted. Very 300 but lacking any real connection or depth. Good movie for cheezel munching. Nothing worth hearing... or remembering really.

Well, I am a sci-fi/fantasy fan, and if there were any bad reviews about this film I didn't spot any faults. It had everything you could ask for, action, changelings, adventure. This time around we visit the mythological world of Egypt.
