Helen Kelly: Together

Review: Helen Kelly: Together

I cant stress enough what an insightful portrayal this was of a life lived extraordinarily. The perspective on kiwi living felt so authentic, it was both delightful and maddening.

From the Grey Valley, personally knowing cast members and first hand seeing the grief and demand for justice that fuelled protests, the depiction of Helen’s work regarding the pike river mine disaster hit especially close to home.

I would encourage anyone to go and see this movie as regardless of your personal politics Helen Kelly’s legacy is ultimately one of intelligence, humanity and kindness in the face of gruelling odds & Tony Sutorius did a wicked job documenting this take on NZ history.
