Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

Four years after the events of Jack Reacher, Tom Cruise's butt-kicking character of the same name returns to his former military headquarters - only to find colleague Susan Turner (The Avengers' Cobie Smulders) has been charged with espionage.

With the departure of director Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise re-teams with Edward Zwick (The Last Samurai), for this adaptation of Lee Child's novel, Never Go Back (the eighteenth book in Child's series).

Good action movie (if you have read the book). But again Tom Cruise is totally wrong as Reacher

No, really, you should've gone gone & done another JR...

Jack Reacher -Never Go Back ‘Salt’ with hints of ‘Man on Fire’ ‘Leon the Professional’ ‘The Equaliser’ and ‘The Littlest Hobo’… Similar to the first, but Jack manages to drive a car substantially better now. Good, but I was told again, know where near as good as the book series. (I really gotta read them). If you got nothing to do, then this will fill that...

Not a fan of Cruise

I've never been a fan of Tom Cruise - don't know why - he always seems a bit fake when he acts. However I think that in both the Jack Reacher movies - he's actually done a great job! Action packed and a bit of a thrill, I thought they were equally good! Thanks Flicks for the tickets - first time at the Roxy too! Had a great time :)

It doesn't zing, nor does it completely disappoint.

3 stars because I'm feeling generous

You might only give it a 2 (like most professional critics) or a 4 if you're an action fan. Or maybe not because teh film does drag on a bit as the action sequences are interspersed with plot development (which at times aint all that interesting. I came to this film because the first one was okay and I was super excited when I saw the trailer for this one....

Cruise missiles

As expected from the very beginning you were aware that trouble was brewing, This was a much better film than the last. Yes, there is a lot of interesting current events happening on the global scene and storylines like this make for interesting topics of discussion. puitting the violence aside, i enjoyed the movie the two females in the leading roles...

The character that was an awkward fit for the actor four years ago seems to be even more so now, if only because Cruise's greatest asset is his charisma, while Reacher is a stoic, stone-cold heavy.

Efficient, unfussy, and doesn't try to think any faster than it can run.

"Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" is the second movie that Tom Cruise has starred in as this title character. Let's hope it's the last.

Popcornily preposterous and watchable.

Yes, Never Go Back is a bad title but may prove good advice.

If ever there was a movie that could stop a franchise in its tracks, it's this one.

This Reacher outing has its imperfections and its obstacles to overcome, but the strength of the character and the briskness of the action make it acceptable if you are in the mood.

By-the-numbers plotting, seen-it-all-before action moves, banal locations and a largely anonymous cast alongside the star give this a low-rent feel.

Overall, a superior sequel.
