Jared Hess' follow up to Napoleon Dynamite (and written by School Of Rock and The Good Girl writer Mike White). It follows Nacho Libre (Black) - head chef & friar at an orphanage. Lambasted for his poor cooking, he turns the blame on a lack of funds. In order to raise the money himself, he secretly enters the world of professional wrestling.

As far as comedies go, this is the best of 2006. Jarod Hess is the best comedy director out there. Suprising, and joyously random.

Mucho Gusto not so Mucho Risas

The characterisation in this film is brilliant, Jack Black and his Esqueleto comrade are a superbly watchable combination. The setting is also fantastic and there are alot of cinematic elements to like about the film. I guess the criticism though is that the laughs tumble out at all-too-rare intervals and many fall flatter than a tortilla. Nice and...
