Ned Kelly (2003)
Heath Ledger is outlaw Ned Kelly in this Australian western. After being unfairly jailed in the 1870s, the bushranger emerges hardened but intent on staying straight. But when British colonial prejudice against the working class turns to intimidation and false charges, Kelly goes bush with a posse and seeks revenge against his oppressors. Clashes with police lead to three dead, Kelly gains notoriety and blazes a trail through the Outback - robbing banks to fund the gang, and outwitting the authorities.

The New York Times
pressThere is a potent national epic struggling to find expression here, but this movie is too rushed and fragmented to do it justice.
