Nitram
Reuniting once again after 2019's True History of the Kelly Gang, director Justin Kurzel and writer Shaun Grant depict the days leading up to one of the darkest moments in Australian history: the 1996 massacre in Tasmania's Port Arthur. This tragedy led to an important change in Australia's gun laws. Stars Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out) in a Cannes-winning performance, Essie Davis (The Babadook), Golden Globe-winner Anthony LaPaglia (Lantana) and two-time Academy Award-nominee Judy Davis (The Dressmaker).

The Guardian
Another extraordinary achievement from Kurzel, who has a penchant for evoking gut-sinking emotional atmosphere.

The Australian
The film moves inexorably to an ending that is both totally chilling and understated.
