Despite its fantastical setting, this film shows more of reality than most animated efforts these days, and includes at least a couple pretty fun action scenes.
However, like many modern animated films, it falls into quite a pacing slump, attempting to crack too many cliché gags, and never knowing how to smoothly sail the ocean of emotional beats.
All in all, an entertaining film, but as I've pretty much come to expect these days, not quite what I'd hope for from a Pixar original film.
