The Last House on the Left
A remake of Wes Craven's 1972 horror of the same name (itself a remake of Ingmar Bergman's The Virgin Spring), The Last House on the Left reveals the lengths some people will go to enact brutal vengeance on those who have harmed their loved ones. Mari Collingwood and her friend are kidnapped and brutally assaulted by a gang led by a prison escapee. Left for dead, she returns home to her parents. The thugs, meanwhile, looking for a place to rest, unwittingly enter the Collingwood's holiday house and find themselves at the receiving end of an increasingly gruesome series of revenge tactics.
