Invasion season 3: New Zealand trailer and release date

Humanity strikes back in Apple’s alien invasion yarn.

Apple TV+ has quietly become the destination streaming service for high quality, thoughtful sci-fi – look at stuff like Foundation, For All Mankind, Severance, and even Murderbot. The epic alien invasion series Invasion hasn’t gotten the attention some of its channel-mates have received, but genre fans should definitely give it a spin.

When is Invasion season 3 being released in New Zealand?

Invasion season 3 is streaming in the UK exclusively on Apple TV+ from August 22, with new episodes dropping weekly. And I’m actually surprised it’s a single episode premiere—two or three is easily the norm these days. Ten eps this season, by the way.

What is Invasion season 3 about?

Spreading a very wide narrative net and playing a very long game, Invasion tells a tale of alien invasion in (sort of) real-time through the eyes of various ordinary people around the world. For the past couple of seasons those story threads have been kept fairly separate, but all that changes now as our various workaday protagonists come together for a desperate mission to strike at the alien mothership itself. So think Independence Day, but slow and talky. And good!

The cast of Invasion season 3

Golshifteh Farahani is Aneesha Malik; Shamier Anderson is Trevante Cole; Shioli Kutsuna is Mitsuki Yamato; Billy Barratt is Caspar Morrow; Azhy Robertson is Luke Malik; Tara Moayedi is Sarah Malik; India Brown is Jamila Huston; Paddy Holland is Monty Cuttermill; Enver Gjokaj is Clark Evans; Nedra Marie Taylor is Rose Callaway; and Naian González Norvind as Maya Castillo.

Why we’re excited about Invasion season 3

While it’s not technically the Golden Age of Science Fiction, we are definitely living in a golden age of science fiction—on the small screen at least. It’s a veritable cornucopia of content for genre fans, but make sure you don’t miss this tasty treat amongst the more high profile offerings.
