News: R.I.P. Harold Ramis, ‘Ted’ sequel gets new lead and more

This year has been quite tough on the obituary of cinema greats. It saddens us to announce the passing of Harold Ramis, the comedy filmmaking legend behind Groundhog Day, Caddyshack, Animal House and Ghostbusters – who made his most recognisable screen presence as Dr. Egon Spengler.

The Chicago Tribune has a lovely little piece on Ramis’ impact.

Things That Will Happen

Deadline reports that Bradley Cooper will star in American Blood, a feature based on the bestselling crime thriller from absurdly young Kiwi author Ben Sanders. (He’s younger than me, the jerk.)

Tim Story, director of Ride Along, will helm the true-story comedy Diplomats, examining Dennis Rodman’s “hoops diplomacy” mission to North Korea. (via Hollywood Reporter)

Ted 2 has a new lead in Amanda Seyfried. Former female lead Mila Kunis is said to have only a “tiny appearance”. No surprises there; she’s only like 5′ 4″ tall. (via Collider)
