EPISODE 1.1
Renoir
A strong command of French is needed to really excel
... More in French Clown School, which Chip Baskets finds out the hard way.LessChip Baskets wants to follow his dream of being a French clown—however, reality keeps interfering. Saddled with financial difficulties and facing an impenetrable language barrier, he moves back home to Bakersfield with high hopes. There, he is forced to confront his past while working as a rodeo clown and competing with his siblings for his mother's approval and affection.

Full reviewIt’s almost worth watching Baskets just to see Anderson play one of the most instantly amusing and sympathetic characters on TV.
Full reviewIt’s a good mix of highbrow humour and silly, kick-in-the-pants laughs.
Full reviewThere’s no real reason to spend half an hour with Chip, much less go on his journey to nowhere.
