EPISODE 1.1
The Encounter
Fascination spirals into Faustian bargain: as Alice’s obsession deepens, she
... More starts to lose her grip on her integrity, lured instead by seductive mirages of power and success.LessAyelet Zurer (Daredevil) leads this psychological suspense drama as a female film director who becomes infatuated with a younger woman in the industry—an obsession that threatens to consumer her.
Alice (Zurer), a 48-year-old female film director, feels irrelevant since raising her family. After a brief encounter on the train, she becomes obsessed with a 24-year-old screenwriter femme fatale, Sophie (Lihi Kornowski), and eventually surrenders her moral integrity in order to achieve power, relevance and success. Through the prism of this female Faust, the series explores issues such as jealousy, guilt, fear of aging, and the complex relationships women have among themselves and each other. But above all, Losing Alice is a love letter for the still-too-rare female director.

Full reviewThe echoes here include Fatal Attraction and even The Player, but focusing the power dynamic on two women gives the building menace a fresh perspective.
