While the movie certainly looks world-class, the writing doesn't always live up to the expectations. It's Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's star power that really saves the day for this magnum opus.

2.0 is a very clever spectacle not to be missed for its sheer audacity and scale.

In 2.0, Shankar's ability to marry visual effects with populist melodrama serves him well in some of the sequences, even though the larger message is confused and the screenplay is too sluggish for an action spectacle.

Against all reason-against all common sense-'2.0' works, and in a big, big way.

This film certainly has the look and feel of a big-ticket Hollywood production, and that alone is worth the price of the ticket.

The film is rather linear, with an easy-to-identify and easy-to-extinguish problem, but coasts nicely on Rajini's charm.
