Blindness

Blindness

(2008)
Fernando Meirelles is the filmmaker who brought us City of God and The Constant Gardener. His latest film tells of a city ravaged by an epidemic of instant 'white blindness'.

As this plague sweeps the city, an unaffected woman (Julianne Moore) witnesses unsavoury acts as the powerful prey upon the weak. She pretends to be blind so she can follow her husband (Mark Ruffalo) into quarantine. Here she meets a society of blind people who she takes care of and leads out into the streets of chaos.
