Hoodwinked

Hoodwinked

Hoodwinked
A low budget, independent (the first to be big box-office-wise), digitally animated re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood which claims to show the "real story" behind the children's classic.

A domestic disturbance at Granny's cottage brings some feathered cops investigating what looks at first to be an open-and-shut case of a woodsman assaulting a wolf impersonating a granny. But as detective Nicky Flippers (Stiers) and Police Chief Grizzly (Xzibit) dig deeper they find all is not as it seems: the seemingly innocent Red girl (Hathaway) is worldly wise; the Wolf has been terribly misunderstood; Granny has a secret life no one could have imagined; and the insecure Woodsman has some surprising ambitions of his own.

The most radical feature is that it's a ride without heroes, unless you count the filmmakers, who could end up doing for independent animation what Soderbergh and Tarantino did for indie film...
