Twilight

Twilight

Twilight

Adapted from the first in a hit series of novels by Stephenie Meyer and directed by the generally brilliant Catherine Hardwicke (Lords Of Dogtown, Thirteen) - this centres around Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart, Into The Wild), a 17-year-old newcomer to the town of Forks, Washington. She falls for her handsome classmate Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson, Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire), before finding out that he is actually a 108-year-old vampire with the body of a hunky teenager. Swept up in a passionate romance, Edward has to resist the allure of Bella's sweet blood. And when three more dangerously bloodthirsty types arrive on the scene, he has to risk his life to protect his (much) younger lover. This could be the start of a beautiful, erm, franchise...

A disappointingly anemic tale of forbidden love that should satiate the pre-converted but will bewilder and underwhelm viewers who haven't devoured Stephenie Meyer's bestselling juvie chick-lit franchise.

So Twilight isn't a masterpiece -- no matter. It rekindles the warmth of great Hollywood romances, where foreplay was the climax and a kiss was never just a kiss.

Twilight has a few gory plot turns - mostly offscreen - and one near-sex scene that may offend a few Amish people, but the rest is maybe 33 percent less wholesome than "High School Musical." It's almost certainly less risque than what you were watching when you were 14. (Cue the soundtrack to "Risky Business.")

Twilight will mesmerize its target audience, 16-year-old girls and their grandmothers. Their mothers know all too much about boys like this.

The religious symbolism couldn't be more obvious (or disturbing). Keep your religion out of our vampires, Hollywood!

An underwhelming vampire romance long on camp but short on emotional insight

Q: When is a vampire not a vampire? A: When it goes out in daylight, sees itself in a mirror, doesn’t drink human blood, and still manages to suck.

A sometimes girlie swirl of obsession that will delight fans, this faithful adaptation is after teenage blood, and will most likely hit a box office artery.

If ever there was a movie I should never have seen - this might be it. What have they done to the good ol' vampire genre?! See LET THE RIGHT ONE IN - it's the only antidote to this tween de-fanged sparkly skinned carwreck. No wonder it was so huge at he box office! Horrible on so many levels. An insult to women. Hell, an insult to all vampire fans! Makes...

Forced and talky bloodless vampire tale. The dialogue was so unrealistic made worse by the awkward mono tone acting (and I usually like Kristen Stewart, doesn't take away from her attractiveness though). I really don't get what all the fuss is about! If you want an awesome vampire tale that does it better check out True Blood.

Give me a pillow and a blanket please! this movie will put you to sleep. the story line is predictable and the characters are just boring. The acting from Kristen Stuart is weak, the cinematography is weak and the vampires are weak! not a very cool vampire movie at all,,,

I absolutely loved twilight! I am now on to reading the books! Important!: Watch the movie first! Don't read the books first because I've heard the movie was a bit of a disapointment to some people because they expected more!

Oh my god, this is my favourite movie, I have now seen it three times at the movies and am going for my fourth this weekend! I have also read the book, and it is just as awesome as the movies! Why cant real life men treat girls the way that Edward treats Bella? he is so romantic and the way that he touches her and looks at her just gives me goose bumps!...

Well I found myself plesantly surprised as to how enetertaining this movie was. It will not find itself in the all-time classic list and it has a well worn story line but it was worth the 10 dollars that I paid to see it. Pattision and Stewart play their parts well, with Stewart being particularly impressive.
