Picard season 3 hits Prime Video in February
Jean-Luc’s getting the band back together for one final tour.

It’s time for the last, last hurrah! Over the last couple of seasons Star Trek: Picard has acted as a sort of coda to the Next Generation era, bringing back old faves to bid them a fond farewell. Previously we’ve had Data (Brent Spiner), Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Q (John DeLancie) show up, but it seems that just about everyone else is going to get some spotlight time when Star Trek: Picard season three hits Amazon Prime Video on February 23.
As you can probably guess from the title, Star Trek: Picard brings us the continuing adventures of former Star Fleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (the legendary Patrick Stewart), now in his final years, as he deals with crises too epic for the current crop of galactic heroes.
Previously he’s put together a little crew to help in these matters, including Borg survivor Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) and disgraced pilot Raffi (Michelle Hurd), who are both returning this season. He’s also called on some old friends from time to time, and this time out they’re joined by LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge, Gates McFadden as Beverley Crusher, Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi, and Michael Dorn as Worf, all reprising their roles from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The nostalgia waves are off the scale, Captain!
We don’t know as yet what threat could be big enough to bring these old warhorses back to the harness, but it seems to have something to do with Amanda Plummer’s scarred and vengeful Vadic, as seen in the trailer. Also in the trailer: Daniel Davis as Professor James Moriarty, a hologram simulation of the Sherlock Holmes villain somehow granted sentience back in a couple of classic Next Gen episodes. Given where he ended up, he may well be quite miffed at our Captain. We’ll have to jump in on day one to see just how much…
