How to watch Wicked: For Good in New Zealand
The biggest movie musical in the world right now comes to its epic conclusion.

The musical based on the novel inspired by the books—which also gave us the classic film—was split in two on its long journey to our screens, becoming two whole movies but losing none of its fabulous theatre kid energy on the way. Now, director Jon M. Chu, who also helmed In the Heights (and G.I. Joe: Retaliation—that’s range), is finally unleashing the second part.
How to watch Wicked: For Good in New Zealand
Wicked: For Good is now screening exclusively in New Zealand cinemas.
What is Wicked: For Good about?
The formative years of future Wicked Witch Elphaba, particularly her university frenemy-ship with future Good Witch Galinda, along with her struggles as a green-skinned girl in a fairy tale kingdom that might be a bit more crypto-fascist than it first appears. And songs—lots and lots of songs.

The problem is everyone thinks she’s a bad ‘un—literally the Wicked Witch of the West—and Oz’s PR game is on point. However, a wild card appears in the form of a farmhouse borne on a tornado…

Why we’re excited about Wicked: For Good
Early reviews have been very positive. Some are trending towards “good, but not as good as the first one” which makes sense, given many of the really memorable moments from the musical were contained therein. But the response has still been pretty amazing, with lots of old crusty critics admitting this mega-popular musical is kind of wonderful.
