The long-awaited Final Reckoning is in cinemas now and we were delighted to host its premiere. Yep, just like Cannes, but here in Aotearoa. Picking up after the events of Dead Reckoning, Ethan Hunt is on the run, and still trying to thwart the Entity—a sentient AI threatening global stability. Yes, there are set pieces, and yes, they are spectacular…
We had a great night hosting Flicks members (become one if you’re not already, it’s free and good). Big shout-out to Paramount Pictures for making the event possible—as well as BurgerFuel for the delicious food provided and Asahi Group for the responsibly enjoyed refreshments by 19 Crimes, Pure Blonde, Asahi, and Hard Rated.

Thank you so much for a great night! My daughter and I loved the whole thing. The Burger Fuel burgers were fabulous and all the snacks and drinks during the movie were delicious! The movie was action packed classic Tom Cruise at his best. This was the first Mission: Impossible movie my daughter’s seen and she loved it. – Rebecca Tindall

Final Reckoning is an excellent closing instalment to the franchise. When I first heard it was almost 3 hours, I thought they may have too much filler. No they didn’t – this was a fast-moving action movie with excellent set pieces to entrance any fan of the genre. The people story balanced the action continuing to develop the characters we have come to love. It’s hard to believe that this was the eighth and final Mission: Impossible movie. It’s been a fun 35 years! Thanks to the producers, directors, cast and crew that have made it a special and fun journey. The movie did honour to the previous seven movies and closed out this iteration in style. Many past characters were visibly present or appeared in flash backs. I look forward to the reboot! – Paul Conder
