Michelangelo Antonioni

Anna disappears during a boat trip to a remote island in the Mediterranean. During the ensuing search, her lover, Sandro and her best friend, Claudia, become involved in a romance.

Clelia, a self-made woman coming from humble means, travels back to Turin, her hometown, to scout locations for the successful Roman atelier she works for. At the hotel, she encounters some upper middle-class women and she finds herself drawn into their friendships.

Michelangelo Antonioni's first English-language film. A portrait of swinging '60s London under the guise of a thriller, it follows a fashion photographer (David Hemmings) who unwittingly takes a photograph of a murder. Co-stars Vanessa Redgrave.
