Statisticians have confirmed it: 96% of moviegoers are in love with at least one of Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal or Chris Evans (and why stop at just one?). And, since we loved the hell out of filmmaker Celine Song’s Oscar-nominated feature debut Past Lives, we were over the moon at hosting a premiere that sees all these talents team up.
Materialists follows professional New York matchmaker Lucy (Johnson), great at setting up clients, but with her own love life on the back burner. Yes, there’s an “until” coming… And that’s until Lucy runs into both the rich, charming Harry (Pascal) and old flame/current cater waiter John (Evans) at a society wedding, setting in motion a reassessment of her romantic priorities.
