This journey follows the well-worn path of “not releasing much information about an upcoming film in order to frustrate people trying to write about it,” but let’s see what we can piece together. Sarah and David are strangers who meet at a friends’ wedding and somehow get the ability to revisit key events in their pasts, seeing how the shape of their lives has brought them to this exact moment.
This film has been described as a magical realist love story, which sounds good. But the last time we got one of those starring Colin Farrell it was Winter’s Tale, and it was terrible. Let’s give this one the benefit of the doubt.

With the caveat that there’s not a whole lot of info to go on, the simple fact that these stars and this director are collaborating is cause for celebration. Kogonada is one of those filmmakers who seems determined to blaze his own trail, so at the very least this should be interesting.
