Game of Thrones may be over (the TV series at least—those books are never getting finished) but there’s still more of Westeros to explore. Now, following on from HBO’s House of the Dragon, comes another prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, set about 70 years or so before the original series.

What is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms about?
After his elderly master dies, the goodhearted oaf Dunk suddenly becomes a knight. But he’s what they used to call a “hedge knight”—unattached to any noble house and forced to wander from place to place, taking whatever work he can as a mercenary. Dunk resolves to prove himself in a jousting tournament, hoping to win both money and glory, but he’s unprepared for the duplicitous cut-and-thrust world of courtly politics lurking behind the tournament’s polished façade. Luckily, his new squire, the slap‑headed kid Egg, seems far more canny. And there’s a reason for that…

Peter Claffey is Ser Duncan the Tall, known to all and sundry as Dunk, a a lowborn hedge knight; Dexter Sol Ansell is Prince Aegon Targaryen, AKA Egg, secret Prince and Dunk’s squire; Finn Bennett is Prince Aerion “Brightflame” Targaryen, Egg’s older brother; Bertie Carvel is Prince Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen, the heir to the Iron Throne and Egg’s uncle; Tanzyn Crawford is Tanselle, a Dornish puppeteer; Daniel Ings is Ser Lyonel Baratheon, heir to House Baratheon; and Sam Spruell is Prince Maekar Targaryen, Baelor’s younger brother and Aerion and Egg’s father.
