What is Bride Hard about?
Sam has not been fulfilling her bridesmaid duties in the run up to her best friend Betsy’s impending nuptials. To be fair, she has a great excuse. Except she can’t use it: she’s a spy for one of those generic not-the-CIA outfits you get in movies, so work frequently has to take precedent. Luckily, Sam gets a chance to combine for professional and social obligations when mercenaries attack Betsy’s…wedding. You know, that kind of snuck up on me.
As we alluded to, this one is directed by Simon West, who gave us Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and The Mechanic. If you’ve wondered where he’s been lately, he’s been off working as a gun for hire directing Chinese blockbusters Skyfire and The Legend Hunters. Bride Hard will be his biggest release in the West in years.

Why we’re excited about Bride Hard
Well, it’s definitely optimised for Rebel Wilson’s comedic talents, and the supporting cast is top notch. As a director, Simon West can be a bit hit and miss, but the smart money says he’s been brought in to keep a steady hand on the action scenes more than anything else. Seems like perfect date night fare to us.
