Oh, c’mon now, it’s bloody Frankenstein. A guy makes a monster out of body parts and comes to regret his life choices. It’s literally one of the most famous stories of all time. Given Del Toro’s avowed love of the material, expect a take more faithful to the original literary source, but don’t be surprised to find a few elements from the broader Franky mythology as well. Certainly, Bernie Wrightson’s incredible artwork has been cited as a major influence on the film’s aesthetic.
