What is House of Guinness season 1 about?

Created by the ridiculously prolific Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, SAS: Rogue Heroes) and well within his wheelhouse, House of Guinness takes us to Dublin in 1868, where the patriarch Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the success of the Guinness brewery, has just died. Naturally, the disposition of his will is much and the minds of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, and so a struggle for control of the best beer you can only drink about two pints of erupts.

The cast of House of Guinness season 1

As you may have surmised, there are a lot of characters bearing the surname “Guinness”. Anthony Boyle is Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge is Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn as Anne Guinness, Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness, and Dervla Kirwan as Aunt Agnes Guinness. On the non-Guinness side of the ledger, we have David Wilmot as Bonnie Champion, James Norton as Sean Rafferty, Jack Gleeson as Byron Hughes, Niamh McCormack as Ellen Cochrane, and Seamus O’Hara as Patrick Cochrane, with Michael McElhatton, Danielle Galligan, Hilda Fay, and Cassian Bilton in support.
