How to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) in New Zealand

That’s quite a sequel hook.

Always two there are, as Yoda once mused: a master and an apprentice. Or in this case, a Scream and an I Know What You Did Last Summer. With the Scream franchise now extremely healthy thanks to a legacy sequel that recycled the original title, it was perhaps inevitable that screenwriter Kevin Williamson’s other, lesser horror series would get another theatrical outing. And here it is!

How to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer in New Zealand

I Know What You Did Last Summer arrives in New Zealand cinemas on July 17, 2025.

What is I Know What You Did Last Summer about?

Well, there’s this guy with a hook, see…

I Know What You Did Last Summer (And Also The Summer 28 Years Ago) is, in fact, not written by Kevin Williamson, although you’d be hard pressed to tell. Sam Lansky and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, with the latter also on directing duties, have penned this tale of five young friends who cover up a hot and run accident one craaaaaazy summer, only to find themselves picked off one by one a year later.

Who could know their terrible secret? Hard to say, but perhaps Julie James and Ray Bronson, survivors of the original Southport Massacre, can shed some light on the situation.

The cast of I Know What You Did Last Summer

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are back as Julie James and Ray Bronson, respectively, so yay for them. Joining them will be Madelyn Cline as Danica Richards, Chase Sui Wonders as Ava Brucks, Jonah Hauer-King as Milo Griffin, Tyriq Withers as Teddy Spencer, Sarah Pidgeon as Stevie Ward, and Gabbriette Bechtel as Tyler, plus Billy Campbell, Austin Nichols, Lola Tung, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez  in undisclosed roles.
