How to watch Long Way Home in New Zealand

Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman reunite for another motorcycle-mounted travel series, only this time they’re keeping close to home. Well, y’know, they’re getting on a bit…

How to watch Long Way Home in New Zealand

Long Way Home is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Apple TV+ from May 9, 2025.

What is Long Way Home about?

Following on from 2004’s Long Way Round, in which they biked from London to New York City; Long Way Down, where they did the same thing but from John o’ Groats in Scotland to Cape Town in South Africa; and 2020’s Long Way Up (Ushuaia, Argentina to Los Angeles), best mates Ewan McGregor (c’mon, he was Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Charley Boorman (a few things here and there, but his dad made Excalibur, in which he played the young Mordred) are on the road again, riding vintage motorcycles from Ewan’s pad in in Scotland to Charley’s in England.

They’re taking the scenic route, through Scandinavia, up to the Arctic Circle, then down to the Baltics and through Europe, visiting more than 15 countries over the course of two months and 10 episodes.

Why we’re excited about Long Way Home

Well, this sort of thing lives or dies on the strength of its presenters, and let’s face it: Ewan and Charley are a pretty good pair. Their natural and well-worn chemistry is the selling point, and all the beautiful scenery they see and fascinating cultures they encounter is just gravy. If you liked the first three series (all of which are now on Apple, if you want a refresher) you’ll absolutely want to cue up this latest offering from our favourite bike bros.
