How to watch Scream 7 in New Zealand

They should call the next one Yawn.

Well, Melisaa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are out, along with original director Christopher Landon, but Neve Campbell is back as perpetual Final Girl Sidney Prescott! That’s good, right? Certainly no kinda pall hanging over this entire exercise, no sir…

How to watch Scream 7 in New Zealand

Scream 7 is screening exclusively in New Zealand cinemas from February 26, 2026.

What is Scream 7 about?

It’s about an awkward a sequel as you can get, what with the principal cast and creatives getting fired for speaking out about the Palestinian genocide or quitting in protest, and original star Campbell being lured back by a fat stack of cash (contract disputes kept her out of the previous installation). So we’re back with Sidney, Gail, and… well, not too many other old characters, given the mortality rate in these things. But there’s another guy in a mask with a voice changer and an encyclopedic knowledge of horror movies slicing up folks. You know how these things go.

The cast of Scream 7

Neve Campbell is Sidney Prescott; Courteney Cox is Gale Weathers, dogged reporter and haircut aficionado; Isabel May is Tatum Evans, Sidney’s daughter; Joel McHale is Mark Evans, Sidney’s husband; Jasmin Savoy Brown is Mindy Meeks-Martin, Randy Meeks’ niece and a survivor of the last couple of flicks; Mason Gooding is Chad Meeks-Martin, Mindy’s twin brother; with Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, and Ethan Embry in support.

Why we’re excited about Scream 7

While the production history has been troubled, the presence of franchise creator Kevin Williamson in the director’s chair and familiar faces Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley go a long way to allaying any nagging doubts we might have—although quite a few of their characters are dead, mind you. All else aside, we’re looking forward to spotting all the homages to horror classics.
