How to watch The Twits in New Zealand
What do Roald Dahl fans call themselves? Dahlings? Anyway, they should be happy.

You may recall that Netflix bought the entire Roald Dahl Story Company, lock, stock, and big friendly giant, back in 2022. So far, that purchase has netted us Wes Anderson’s The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, and now this animated feature from Phil Jonston, director of Ralph Breaks the Internet.
How to watch The Twits in New Zealand
The Twits is streaming exclusively in New Zealand on Netflix from October 16, 2025.
What is The Twits about?
Mr. and Mrs. Twit, the meanest, most horrible people in the world, have built the worst amusement park in the world, Twitlandia. When the pair manage to seize power in their tiny town, it falls to plucky kids Beesha and Bubsy, helped by a family of magical Muggle-Wumps (no further information, but probably not the African circus monkeys of the novel), to save the day. Given how Dahl’s kids’ books rarely adhere to the old three act structure bit, that’s not a bad update of the original 1980 book.
The cast of The Twits
Margo Martindale and Johnny Vegas are Mr. and Mrs. Twit, which is pretty perfect voice casting; Natalie Portman is Mary Muggle-Wump; Timothy Simons is Marty Muggle-Wump; Emilia Clarke is Pippa; Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is Beesha; Ryan Lopez is Bubsy; Jason Mantzoukas is Mayor Wayne John John-John; Alan Tudyk is Sweet Toed Toad; Nicole Byer is Beverly Onion; Mark Proksch is Horvis Dungle; Rebecca Wisocky is Dee Dumdie-Dungle; and Charlie Berens is Gorb Klurb. Top marks for committing to the Roald Dahl Naming Convention.

Why we’re excited about The Twits
Big name cast, colourful characters, beloved if poorly remembered children’s novel…all the ingredients are here for a solid family friendly time passer. And those character designs look pretty freakin’ great.
