What is Zootopia 2 about?
Set a mere week after the events of the original Zootopia, Zootopia 2 sees freshly minted mismatched cop partners Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps (he’s a fox, she’s a rabbit—they fight crime) going undercover to track down the latest threat to the titular funny animal-inhabited city: Gary De’Snake, a…uh…snake. But the thing is, snakes are considered a dangerous species and are banned from Zootopia, so there’s something else going on here.
Expect plenty of satire aimed at cop shows, some sharp dialogue, beautiful animation, and the well-meaning but awkward racial metaphors for which the first film is known and tolerated.

Ginnifer Goodwin is Judy Hopps, the first rabbit of the Zootopia Police Department; Jason Bateman is Nick Wilde, sly red fox and former con artist turned cop; Ke Huy Quan is Gary De’Snake, a pit viper; Fortune Feimster is Nibbles Maplestick, a beaver podcaster and conspiracy theorist; Andy Samberg is Pawbert Lynxley, scion of the powerful Lynxley family; David Strathairn is Milton Lynxley, Pawbert’s father and the family patriarch; Shakira is Gazelle, a Thomson’s gazelle pop star; Idris Elba is Chief Bogo, the cape buffalo head of the Zootopia Police Department; Patrick Warburton is Mayor Brian Winddancer, a stallion and former actor; and there’s many, many more. The voice cast here is absolutely stacked.

Why we’re excited about Zootopia 2
The original Zootopia was a fun, sprightly affair, crackingly paced and with plenty of bright and colourful characrters. This looks like more of the same in every respect, and we’re more than OK with that.
