Win tickets to action epic The Woman King, one of the best films of the year

The Woman King charges into Aotearoa cinemas and we’re giving away double passes.

UPDATE: This competition is now closed and winners have been contacted.

Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die), John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Oscar winner Viola Davis star in historical epic The Woman King, in New Zealand cinemas 27 October. From the director of The Old Guard, the film is inspired by the true events that happened in one of the most powerful states of Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries, centred on the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey.

The Woman King comes with the coveted Flicks Recommends seal of approval: “Celebrates Black women through its power, pride and poise to create one of the best films this year – dispelling the illusion that women are nothing more than wives and mothers and that Black women can only play supporting roles in Hollywood.” Catch Katie Smith-Wong’s full review of the film next week.
