Based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel, using the same greenscreen-heavy look of Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City (of which Miller also wrote) – 300 is a big, violent war epic revolving around the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army of 300 against the advancing Persians.

Rock Hudson and Doris Day are an accidental match made in heaven in this romantic comedy of misunderstanding and double entendres, which took Best Original Screenplay at the 1960 Academy Awards.
