Wubba Lubba Dub Dub and so forth.

Rick & Morty season 8 is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Neon right now.

What is Rick & Morty season 8 about?

What began as a puerile rip off of Back to the Future has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon. Our heroes, for lack of a better word, are super genius Rick Sanchez and his nervous, anxiety-ridden grandson Morty, who gets dragged from dimension to dimension whenever the old madman feels like it. It’s very funny, very smart, and for a minute there had one of the most annoying fandoms on Earth, though that seems to have died down a bit lately. Expect lots of black humour, cartoon violence, and the odd high-minded science fiction concept, with a bit of existential philosophy on the side.

The cast of Rick & Morty season 8

Ian Cardoni voices Rick Sanchez, with Harry Belden as Morty Smith, each having taken over the roles after the firing of original voice actor and series co-creator Justin Roiland. In addition, we have Chris Parnell as the hapless Jerry Smith, Morty’s father and Rick’s son-in-law; Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith, Morty’s older sister and Rick’s granddaughter; and Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith, Morty’s and Summer’s mother and Rick’s daughter.

Why we’re excited about Rick & Morty season 8

Well, that whole Szechuan Sauce thing left a bad taste in our mouths, and arguably the basic conceit of the show has just about run out its string, but Rick and Morty remains one of the funniest and most creative shows currently going. So yeah, we’ll be tuning in, even if it’s getting a little samey.
