How to watch Wednesday season 2 in New Zealand
Get ready for more creepy, kooky adventures with everyone’s favourite dead-eyed tween.

Created by genre veterans Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) and produced under the auspices of Hollywood goth king Tim Burton, Netflix’s Wednesday proved to be a smash hit for the streamer, cementing star Jenn Ortega as this generation’s spooky icon du jour. Inevitably, we’re getting a second season, and it looks like Lurch is pulling out all the stops.
How to watch Wednesday season 2 in New Zealand
Wednesday season 2 is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Netflix from August 6, 2025. Well, the first half is; the final four episodes drop on September 3.
What is Wednesday season 2 about?
A redux of The Addams Family, Wednesday adds a little teen mystery flavour to the mirthful and macabre family of monsters, putting deadpan tween Wednesday into a school setting. That setting is Nevermore Academy, an elite boarding school for supernatural kids, where our haunted heroine must deal with all the woes of adolescence, along with the odd murder mystery, ancient prophecy, and what have you.
The cast of Wednesday season 2
Jenna Ortega is Wednesday Addams; Emma Myers is her upbeat werewolf roomie, Enid Sinclair; Joy Sunday is siren student Bianca Barclay; Moosa Mostafa is Eugene Ottinger, who can control bees; Georgie Farmer is Ajax Petropolus, gorgon and love interest for Enid; and Hunter Doohan is Tyler Galpin, local barista and Wednesday’s potential love interest. Of course, the fandom has been pretty vocal about wanting Wednesday and Enid to hook up, so there’s a fair chance the hetero options get broomed quick.
Additionally, expect a staggering number of cameos and guest appearances, including former Fester Christopher Lloyd; Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams; and Lady Gaga as an enigmatic Nevermore staffer.

Why we’re excited about Wednesday season 2
Tim Burton calling the shots on an Addams Family series starring Jenna Ortega is perhaps too obvious an idea, but that doesn’t mean it’s not great. This is a perfect match of artists and material, playing to the strengths of both spooky ol’ Burton and rising star Ortega. We are here for it.
