Squid game season 3: NZ trailer and release date

The smash hit dystopian carnival of carnage returns—as you’d expect, given Squid Game is one of the most successful series Netflix has ever released.
When is Squid Game season 3 being released in New Zealand?
Squid Game season three is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Netflix from June 27, 2025 .
What is Squid Game season 3 about?
Boy, we’re pretty deep in the weeds by this stage, but let’s see how we go. In a clever (for a certain value of clever) twist on The Running Man and similar fare, Squid Game sees hundreds of cash-strapped contestants sign up for a deadly game show where they could win the money that will solve all their problems, or die horrible, horrible deaths.
Following last season’s shocking cliffhanger (IYKYK) this season puts Gi-hun (Player 456) back into the games, determined to take them down once and for all, despite the loss of his closest ally, Jung-bae (Player 390). However, the Front Man has infiltrated their rebellion disguised as Player 001, so things are looking a bit dicey for our embattled heroes. This looks like the climax of the whole Squid Game deal—unless this makes a ton of money, in which case we’re likely to see more.

Once again, this season is written, directed, and produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who really must be pinching himself.
