The Black Demon (December 12)

December’s the first month of summer, and if you need a solid reason to avoid the beach once the sun’s out, this shark horror movie might do the trick. Josh Lucas stars as a family man trying to keep his vacation afloat when a gigantic megalodon shark gets territorial. This year’s other big (and we mean big) shark movie was basically a flop, so we hope this streaming option takes a better bite at the same material.

Reacher: Season 2 (December 15)

Some absolute idiot is killing off Jack Reacher’s old army buddies, and he’s gonna get just what he deserves in the action-packed second season of this well-received thriller series. Towering actor Alan Ritchson is perfectly cast as Reacher, bringing both size and smarts to a more personal mission than ever before—teaming up with three former teammates to deliver sweet vengeance, expect plenty of knuckle sandwiches to get served up.

The Pope’s Exorcist (December 28)

I saw this religious horror B-movie on the same day as Super Mario Bros.: two entertaining films, both about as Italian as takeaway spag bol from a fish and chip shop. Russell Crowe gives his Father Gabriel Amorth a full-bodied, mama mia accent, however, in this scarefest based veeeery loosely on a real Vatican legend. If you can’t make it out the cinema to check out the new Exorcist movie this Halloween, watching Rusty battle demons from the comfort of your couch could be a good alternative.
