Awards Season 2014 so far…

The wheels are turning on awards season 2014 – the Golden Globe nominees have been announced and will be awarded this Sunday (US time), and the Oscar noms will be announced January 16th.

In the meantime, five of the smaller organisations have already dished out their gongs and the Oscar front runners are becoming clear. Here’s a recap:

National Society of Film Critics 2014 winners

Going with grandiose slogan of ‘The Truth, Once Every 12 Months’, this round table of America’s leading film critics named the following winners on Saturday:

National Board of Review award winners 2013

The non-profit film organisation gave romantic comedy Her top honours, calling director Spike Jonze “one of the most talented and visionary filmmakers working today. In Her, he explores the age-old themes of love and human connection in a completely fresh and innovative way. It is an outstanding achievement that is sure to become a new classic.”
