How to watch One Shot with Ed Sheeran in New Zealand

One singer, one take, one almighty big endurance challenge for people who don’t care for Ed Sheeran.

Bloodnut, Yorkshireman, musician, and raconteur Ed Sheeran is front and centre in this new and intriguing… extended music video? Concert film? Travelogue? It’s a bit of an odd one.

One Shot with Ed Sheeran is now streaming exclusively in New Zealand on Netflix.

What is One Shot with Ed Sheeran about?

The general gist is that Ed Sheeran wanders around New York City for an hour, doing the odd spot of busking, encountering fans and friends, and otherwise just ambling about being Ed Sheeran. Which to be sure sounds delightful for Ed Sheeran fans.

More interestingly, this thing is done in one unbroken take, and is being touted as an entirely spontaneous real-time music experience. How spontaneous is up for debate; nobody bats an eyelid at the presence of the camera crew, and there’s not a lot of behind the scenes material out there. But they did rope in Emmy Award–winning director Philip Barantini to make the thing, and he recently won huge plaudits for his work on Netflix’s harrowing four-part drama Adolescence.
